Governance and Authorities

The vision, values and governance framework of the ecosystem, and the authorities who lead it.

Who we are and how we are organised

We are an international mentoring ecosystem made up of cultural and language communities in different countries, which operate autonomously and collaboratively under a common framework of ethical governance, with the purpose of humanising humanity, expanding awareness and contributing to human development through mentoring.

Vision and mission

Vision

To be the most influential, recognised and respected global community of mentors, driving human development and spiritual evolution in a sustainable way. Promoting the coherence, effectiveness and legitimacy of mentoring as a professional discipline, integrating cultural diversity and scientific reach for the benefit of humanity.

Mission

To connect, train, certify and serve the international community of mentors, strengthening their quality, ethics and professionalism. We develop the field of action, the scientific impact and the mode of professional practice of mentoring, strengthening its presence and legitimacy in every region and culture of the world.

Guiding principles

01

Integration

We bring together mentoring professionals interested in creating synergies, in order to position this discipline as a way of spreading procedural, actionable knowledge in the service of Mentors.

02

Innovation

We work guided by the innovative, developing effort of Mentoring as a Profession.

03

Professionalism

We foster the personal and professional growth and development of the community of professional mentors.

04

Generosity

We share ideas, experiences and good practices of professional mentoring, as a process of informal transmission of knowledge, social capital and psychosocial support, perceived by the Mentor as relevant to their working career, personal life or professional development.

05

Code of Ethics

We guide our actions within the framework of the norms, rules and procedures of the RGMentores Code of Ethics.

Governance model

The governance of the Network rests on a balance between strategic direction and decentralised execution.

  • Global PresidencyLeads the vision, represents the organisation institutionally and safeguards the coherence of the model.
  • World Mentoring Council (CMdM)Advisory body for strategic and ethical guidance.
  • Strategic and Regional DirectoratesDefine and communicate the strategy, coordinating the work of the Executive Vice-Presidencies.
  • Vice-PresidenciesCarry out operational actions in their regions or thematic areas.

Everything is framed by the “Global Magna Carta”, a document that defines the structure, functions and operating principles of our community, and by its short version, the “Public Governance Guide”.

Our conduct is governed by a “Code of Ethics” that guarantees transparency, respect and professional quality in all processes.

Authorities

The leadership driving global mentoring

The three organisations each have a team of authorities that forms their strategic and operational core. This leadership acts under the guidance of the Global Presidency and the strategic approval of the World Mentoring Council, to ensure coherence, quality and expansion on every continent.

World Mentoring Council (CMdM)

A collegiate body that approves the global strategy and watches over the ethical, cultural and professional coherence of actions. It is made up of international leaders in mentoring.

  • Approve strategic and expansion plans.
  • Protect the principles and standards of professional mentoring.
  • Act as a body for consultation and the resolution of disputes.

Words from the Global President

Eng. Alejandro Motta, global president

Welcome to the Global Mentoring Network (RGM), an international organisation that unites cultures, languages and professions to raise mentoring up as a discipline of high human, ethical and social impact.

We believe in mentoring that grows out of reflected experience, in which what has been lived becomes shared wisdom and a profound act of humanisation.

We are organised as an international ecosystem of cultural and language communities, guided by ethical and participatory governance and supported by training and outreach platforms that drive the professionalisation of mentors worldwide.

Since 2013 we have been building a network of worldwide standing.

Today we invite you to join us and leave a legacy that transcends borders and generations.

In 2014, in the city of São Paulo, a group of visionary mentors formed a Steering Committee to lay the foundations of an international mentoring community. Until then known as the Hispanic-American Network of Mentors, the initiative broadened its scope and took the name Global Mentoring Network (RGM), reflecting its vocation to bring together cultures, languages and approaches from all over the world.

Since then, the RGM has evolved into an ecosystem that connects and strengthens sister communities —the Rede Global de Mentores (ReGM) and the Global Mentoring Network (GMN)— with the aim of professionalising mentoring, strengthening its legitimacy and expanding its global impact.

Today, several of those founding mentors still serve on the Steering Committee, which leads the development and consolidation of the organisational model. This vision is moving towards a Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO), combining the strength of a global holding of services for mentoring with the autonomy of interconnected multicultural communities.
